Re: Interstellar Oscar Chances

My top 10 would be:
1) Interstellar
2) The Raid 2
3) Gone Girl
4) The Grand Budapest Hotel
5) Whiplash
6) Boyhood
7) The Guest
8) Locke
9) Nightcrawler
10) Birdman

4 nominated films from my top 10 isn't all that bad. Much better than in 2012 when only Django was worthy of a nomination in my opinion.

Re: Interstellar Oscar Chances

I have Birdman on the last place of my top 10 of the year. But I can't say it was an amazing film. And that's honestly only because I didn't connect with the overall story. Almost everything about this film was top-notch - the acting, cinematography, music, even the dialogue. But I just didn't care ...

Re: How many times have you seen Interstellar?

2. Speaking of time slippage, when Coop detaches and falls into the black hole, time would then change for him relative to Brand who escaped the black hole. That is, time would go much, much slower for Coop. In what would have seemed like a minute or two for him, decades, if not more, would pass fo...

Re: oscar live-blogging session?

I don't really care about who wins the Oscars. I mean, most people till this day still treasure The Matrix and Fight Club more than American Beauty, 2001 more than Oliver!, Star Wars more than Annie Hall, Back to the Future more than Out of Africa, Goodfellas to Dances with Wolves, etc. The Academy'...

Re: DVD/BLU RAY RELEASE

That's a really good amount of extras, even if I already saw "The Science of Interstellar".

I was hoping for the StarTalk Radio interview with Chris Nolan to be included, though. I hope they'll still release that in some way.

Re: Interstellar Oscar Chances

Wow, you really went out of your way to vote for Interstellar. I didn't vote for it in:
- Visual Effects (Dawn)
- Trippiest Movie (Birdman)
- Poster (Nightcrawler)
- Trailer (Godzilla)

But Movie, Director, Sci-Fi and Underrated all went to Interstellar.

Re: Interstellar: That annoying Paradox

People mentioned some really good films about time travel like Cronocrimenes or even Predestination, which is phylosophically interesting. I would, however, also recommend Primer and it might get you talking about time travel even more. It's one confusing film but quite brilliant in its theory. I lo...

Re: Interstellar Oscar Chances

Oh yeah, not only should it have been nominated, I think it should have easily won the whole thing. I love Birdman's cinematography. If it was a year with lesser competition, I'd probably give it to Birdman. However, Interstellar was AMAZINGLY beautiful. I'd much rather Interstellar win cinematograp...

Re: Interstellar General Information

Well it's not the "award" that gives out these nominees. It's the users of JoBlo's website. It's a democratic voting and as you know Interstellar is very polarizing on the web - a lot of people said it's amazing, and a lot of people didn't like it. That's why it got both nominations.
