First Official Images for Tenet Release Ahead of Prologue and New Trailer

The ball is starting to roll on the marketing for Christopher Nolan’s Tenet. Earlier this week the social media pages for the film went live with a hidden message decoded by our very own community. Today we get the first set of official images via Entertainment Weekly and GamesRadar+. But that’s not all! Entertainment Weekly has Nolan’s first public comments on the film, we have confirmation on the new trailer runtime, and we have reactions from both the trailer and prologue as well. Are you on the hype train yet?

So let’s start with the images first. This morning Entertainment Weekly dropped an ‘exclusive’ first look at Tenet.

Robert Pattinson and John David Washington

Elizabeth Debecki and John David Washington

The images showcase John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, and Elizabeth Debicki. Washington, who Nolan says is “very much the hero” of Tenet, appears in both photos. The images play to typical espionage tropes we’ve seen in other films. Entertainment Weekly also has Christopher Nolan’s first public comments on the film. “So, what can I not tell you about my movie?” asked Nolan. Up until now, we haven’t known much about the film. We’ve been told its “an action epic evolving from the world of international espionage.”

In the exclusive interview, Nolan goes a bit further. “We’re jumping off from the point of view of an espionage film, but we’re going to a number of different places.” The filmmaker goes on to explain that the “action epic” was filmed in seven countries with a massive cast and huge set pieces. “There’s no question, it’s the most ambitious film we’ve made,” states Nolan. John David Washington

Next, GamesRadar+ shared an image of John David Washington from their sister publication Total Film. This image resembles footage seen in the first teaser trailer shown in theaters exclusively this past summer.

But this morning we also got a rating of the new trailer coming out tomorrow, as well as reactions from it and the prologue. The rating (via reveals the trailer is 2 minutes and 7 seconds. Reactions started popping up from friends and followers on our Twitter. “Lot of action and those practical effects 🙌 See it on the big screen.”

There are a number of reactions pouring in about the IMAX prologue as well. However, we’re not going to go into detail or talk spoilers here. All-in-all it has been an eventful morning.
