Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe Discussion Thread

Yep, this is not a DC vs Marvel thing. This is a Nolan/Raimi/Burton's singular super-hero movies versus big blockbuster controled by their producers, in Scorsese's and Coppola's mind. Also they say MCU but when they say that, they definitely also have in mind Fast and furious, all the many remakes....

Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe Discussion Thread

Once again DC fandom are eating these comments up. Coppola disliking Iron Man doesn't mean he loves Aquaman . Yep, this is not a DC vs Marvel thing. And he had two: the first one was not having shot One from the heart with multiple cameras in two/three days as he intended until Storaro oppos...

Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe Discussion Thread

Francis Ford Coppola has entered the chat "When Martin Scorsese says that the Marvel pictures are not cinema, he's right because we expect to learn something from cinema, we expect to gain something, some enlightenment, some knowledge, some inspiration. "I don't know that anyone gets anything out o...

Re: Last Film You Watched? VI

The lost city of Z; It may be a bit too long, but every scene is great so what can you cut? Loved it. Such a great take on the subject by Gray. All the actors are great, just a bit sad Spidey doesn't get to meet the Emperor. Hunnam's character is filled with ambiguity. He thrives to be a progressiv...

Re: Parasite (2019)

honestly i'm just obsessively checking the release dates every week or so hoping i'd see my country added to the list and having SOME sort of a limited release, but alas it's such a shame because i feel like it's beyond stupid to wait another 6 months before i can *possibly* catch it in a local fes...

Re: Ad Astra (2019)

I'm not done listening to the entire thing but damn, it's so beautiful and haunting and heavenly He better gets an Oscar nomination if not win for his work When you see how the Awards treated Zimmer for Interstellar and Hurwitz last year, I wouldn't get my hopes up. Richter should already have been...

Yes, they never improve. Black Panther is of the same quality of Iron Man 2.
Concerning phase 4, there is Zhao who could do something alike Coogler's work. But even Coogler and his two very ambitious first acts eventually had to solve everything way too fast in a big CGI battle...

I wonder what a 90 min. Star Wars film would look like?
Like ROTJ without the useless 40 first minutes probably.
