Re: Last Film You Watched? VI

Re: The Irishman (2019)

However there is a more than a few of unnecessary (or even bad) scenes that could have been trimmed; the most egregious one is the daughter spelling out her "subtextual" meaning (and fuction) in the narrative. Jikes. Two things. She is not "spelling" out her function. We are supposed to see and feel...

Re: Last Film You Watched? VI

Ford v Ferrari James Mangold knows how to direct action scenes. Exhilarating would be an understatement. Probably gonna win a slew of technical awards come Oscar season. A very annoying character in the movie is the sole reason for the drama to propel forward. That's Mangold's only undoing. Otherwi...

Re: Disney+'s The Mandalorian

Once again so little of worth happens in the second episode. Göransson is seriously epic though.

Re: The Criterion Collection

Fail-Safe is incredible. Extremely unfortunate that it would always be overshadowed by Strangelove. But doomsday movies don't get better than this.

Re: Disney+'s The Mandalorian

First episode was meh. I really wanted it to be something. Thoroughly disappointed. Let's see how it progresses.
