Re: Hideo Kojima Official Thread

im like 50 hours into this game (I took a lot of time off work to unwind since starting dec 1 my life gets waaaaay busier) and im in Ch8 cuz i spend most of my time building roads. somehow i get a dopamine rush knowing it'll be for other players to use. the world, story, tone, all of it are really a...

Re: Disney+'s The Mandalorian

Ep 2 is a lot of fun, but man, i really can't dial into the style here. the scope of the scripts expands beyond the talent of the men behind the camera. it's one of the most expensive tv shows of all time (it cost more than S8 of GOT yet it's way shorter so more $$ per minute) yet it looks like 'TV"...

Re: The Batman (2021)

There's a difference between having too many characters and not utilizing each character with the story. The multiple villains failed in Spider-Man 3 because they all had a major arc, Nolan's Batman trilogy used multiple villains in each film too and that worked out more than fine. I think Reeves i...

Re: Disney+'s The Mandalorian

I enjoyed this more on a rewatch. There are still pacing issues, and the limitations of FIloni's cinematic acumen are still laid bare, but it's very enjoyable.

Re: The Irishman (2019)

Utter fucking masterpiece For real? I was tempted to leave several times. This movie was waaayyy too long and slow. 3 people in my small cinema left around the 70% mark. Very disappointed and underwhelmed with this movie. Great acting but it could have been like 30% less long Sorry you didn’t like ...

Re: Disney+'s The Mandalorian

The Mandalorian is a very good, perhaps even great, 55 minute long episode edited into the shell of an awkward 38 minutes. At times, it feels as though it's in montage, or an "extended trailer" for the real episode. Scenes pass by too quickly before clumsily transitioning to the next beat. There are...

Re: Disney+'s The Mandalorian

This doesn't work on my TV (a Vizio P Series) OR my PS4 Pro, which has it in (highly compressed) UHD but no HDR. This rollout sucks. The Criterion Channel worked on my TV at launch. ima be pirating it like much of the world until they fix this. i know you folks across the pond are worse off, unfortu...

Re: HBO's Watchmen

I dunno guys. the last thing i'd call this is filler, and it answers, deepens, and clarifies questions from the first 3 episodes, and for some of you saying it isn't character driven, it absolutely is. the show is dealing with trauma in a very similar way to the leftovers. instead of trauma motivati...

Re: BBC's His Dark Materials

All I'll say is for those unaware of the source material - this is gonna go places (in fact ep 2 is already doing a lot of the bigger stuff earlier than the books are) Also, looks like it's three seasons then basically done (unless they want to also adapt The Book of Dust trilogy). its interesting ...
