According to Box Office Mojo, they predict that there's a 25% chance of Interstellar to make 1 Billion.
 I think it will make somewhere close to $750 Million.

Nothing on Batman Levels. They'll need to really push that "From the Director of the Dark Knight Trilogy" tagline a lot.
And Inception.

Inception made $825,532,764 worldwide, Interstellar has even bigger appeal.

I would be extremely surprised to see it crack a billion. That's a serious mark. IMO, we will see it break into the top 30 and likely beat Inception, based on broad market appeal.

It is nice to see DKR in the top 10 all-time @ $1.08MMM ... easy to forget that one.

And how about Frozen?? I am not even f***ing kidding here people. #6 all-time and making moves right now, about to be released in Japan... It has been a long time since my animated film days, but maybe this thing deserves a viewing? :wtf:

1 billion is not such a big feat. as it was back in 2008.

2 billion - now that's a rare sight.

It's twice-a-year instead of a once-a-decade, but still, only 18 movies have ever done it, and of those:
-13 were sequels
-13 have been given some sort of 3D release
-15 were based on pre-existing material (including 4 on comics, and 5 on beloved book series)

Basically the only "original" ones have been Frozen and the two James Cameron entries. If Nolan pulls off a billion dollar box office with Interstellar, he cements himself in Cameron and Spielberg territory (along with probably Peter Jackson and, annoyingly, Michael Bay and Roland Emmerich), entitling him to blank checks for life.

Batman Begins = Worldwide: $374,218,673
The Dark Knight = Worldwide: $1,004,558,444
Inception = Worldwide: $825,532,764
The Dark Knight Rises = Worldwide: $1,084,439,099
Nolan did it two times already (and almost that third time, second chronologicaly, with a non-sequel). And Interstellar is coming after all these mega-hits (minus BB, which was a huge hit on DVD).

That extra $200M is a bigger gap than it looks. I'm not saying I don't expect Interstellar to do well, I'm just saying it will be significantly more difficult to hit the billion mark without the Batman brand behind it.
