Variety confirmed she's in talks, but is close to signing on.

What an excellent choice. Get Eccleston for Phillip and I'll be incredibly satisfied.

The SS funeral from S02E09 was so beautifully shot, a haunting snowy masterpiece.

Finally finished s02. What a marvel.

Cannot wait for s03, plenty to look forward to, with the new cast and the 70s coming in focus.

Claire Foy, Matt Smith and Co., farewell. You all made me fell madly in love with this series.

How? Diana and Charles married in 1981, either a huge timeskip or in s04 imo. Then s05 would be the final one.

Yeah but she and Charles met in 70s. So it's a possibility.

Paul Bettany May Play Prince Philip In ‘The Crown’ Seasons 3 & 4
According to reporter Baz Bamigboye, who is usually pretty spot on with his scoops, Paul Bettany is in negotiations to take over from Matt Smith as Prince Philip. There had been rumors floating that Michael Sheen or David Tennant were in the mix for the part, but frankly, they seem a bit too colorful for the buttoned up Philip. We can totally see Bettany nailing the blandly annoyed, handsome devilishness that Philip tends to exude.

However, as Bamigboye notes, there’s no deal set yet. However, fingers crossed, as it seems like some pretty smart casting and one more reason to keep hoping that “The Crown” seasons three and four will continue hitting the high bar the show has set so far.
