That's still so much money but some $800 million to $900 million below TFA's gross, that's quite something too.

Well, you still gotta mention that the marketing for this one was just awful. Bad trailers, little presence when compared not even to Force Awakens but even The Last Jedi (which in itself had a much smaller presence than TFA).

True, but I don't know whether that is because they had bts troubles or they were afraid to overstay their welcome, so to speak.

You need good marketing for any film, whatever the franchise, for it to make lots of money.
