Re: TENET - General Information/Discussion/Speculation

i was under the impression he didnt use the 65 in 2049 because he hadnt tested it properly, and the lens selection was a bit poor back then, he used the LF for 1917 though, and while i myself am not a techie either, im just stating that its very possible that IMAX will be surpassed by digital in te...

Re: Teaser/Trailer #1

I know nothing obviously but at this point it’s clear they don’t want it online. I also think the ‘theatrical experience preservation’ argument doesn’t make any sense as in delaying the release of the teaser to attach to other films and wait for their initial run to be over. Realistically, you reali...

Re: TENET - General Information/Discussion/Speculation

Even if that’s true to some extent, I personally don’t like that idea. If you want the look of film and can afford it then there’s no reason to fake it. If you’re on a tight budget or you don’t have access to film then fine. And it’s not just about the look of it but it’s a different experience.

Re: TENET - General Information/Discussion/Speculation

Sure, if you ignore all characteristics that make film unique and special then we’re almost there. Panavision made a camera that is capable of capturing 8K images. We can obsess about the Ks but not even the best DPs care that much. Roger Deakins deliberately decided not to use something like the Al...

Re: Teaser/Trailer #1

I really don’t know if that’s a good idea. Especially for a movie this big. You gotta go all the way out. Man, I used to be into the idea of a studio releasing a film mysteriously (initially at least). No trailers, no visuals and no title. Just the director’s name and a date (day and date release). ...

Re: Teaser/Trailer #1

Nope, it's kinda smart. Because they'll get a whole additional slew of media attention when it finally goes online. They will get that attention when the full trailer comes out (if such a plan exists). They will get attention whenever a new piece of information comes out. Lots and lots of outlets w...

Re: Teaser/Trailer #1

Honestly, it would be stupid of them to release it after the hype has cooled down. And the hype has indeed cooled down. Put it on the Blu-ray for archival purposes at least. It’s just strange that they did follow the usual one year ahead teaser but at the same time changed the plan by not releasing ...

Re: Teaser/Trailer #1

I'm seeing both Hobbs & Shaw and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood in IMAX next week, so I'll see if it's attached to one them, both or not attached at all.
