Re: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019)

Those horsies look great I just love Driver as Kylo so much. I hope Isaac gets continued character development he got in TLJ, I really like his work but Johnson basically had to start from scratch after TFA. The only thing for Poe, character wise, I got out of that film was that he's become besties...

Not a big fan of his. What should I watch to re-evaluate my opinion?
Nowhere Boy. Captures Lennon's brilliance and temperament extremely well.

Re: Last Film You Watched? VI

Le salaire de la peur Really worthy of its great reputation. The rythm is perfect. The first act is very good and the second part is even better, with a wonderful equilibrium between suspens and character. Vanel and Montand rock! Their dialogues are great: poetic, funny and ultimately very dark. I ...

Chalamet was very good! But not what I'd call fun. The peach might disagree.

Re: Untitled Benioff & Weiss Star Wars Film (2022)

FWIW, Benioff has written two films I would say are better than RJs pre-TLJ output so I choose optimism here. Director hire is obviously the key.

Re: Untitled Benioff & Weiss Star Wars Film (2022)

There's a lot of buzz in the media that Rian Johnson's trilogy is pretty much dead. It wouldn't really surprise me but it also wouldn't surprise me if they came back to him after the whole Last Jedi controversy quiets down. Right now there's been a resurgence of Prequel fans and I think the same wi...

Re: Untitled Benioff & Weiss Star Wars Film (2022)

B&W was announced as a "series" rather than a trilogy no?

Also Alan Taylor's GOT episodes were great. Some guys are just better suited for the small screen

Re: HBO's Game of Thrones

Yet another strike against grown-ass adults "stanning" or investing in a text on a child level rather than, y'know, engaging with the text itself. I'm shocked that people are shocked. And yes this show is currently (and has had for a while) the vibe of rushed homework but the conflicts were always g...
