Re: The Batman (2021)

I'd like to make a vow to stay completely blind on this film until I'm sitting in the theater on opening night. I want to see NOTHING prior. No trailers, no set photos, no official promo pics, no posters, no music, no TV spots, no ads or official artwork, no toys. I'm trying to wrap my head around h...

Re: Prologue

I haven't kept up in this thread, so I have to ask shamefully... Has anyone wondered if: The prologue is the beginning of the film but also the ending set piece? It is both the first act opening and the third act finale. The movie is actually the same story told twice, but it moves forward an hour, ...

Re: Tenet Memes Thread

Got it! It's called the Baader-Meinhof Phenomenon. https://www.sciencealert.com/you-know-how-when-you-learn-a-new-word-you-see-it-everywhere-here-s-why This could honestly be its own topic for a Nolan movie, haha. Creating a "meme" word and subliminally planting it (like Inception) and tracking how ...

Re: Tenet Memes Thread

Not meme related, but do you suddenly hear the word "tenet" now in casual conversations not pertaining to the movie? Like, I suddenly hear it on TV and in movies.

There's a name for this phenomenon and I forget what it is.

Re: Tenet Official Images/Posters

Seems like there are some bold lighting and color choices in this film compared to the rest of Nolan's films, which is a surprise. Especially since he's color blind (right?). It'll be fascinating to see Tenet's full color pallate. I bet it has the most variety of all his films. Speaking of which, I'...

Re: Dunkirk General Information/Discussion

Joker would be a welcome surprise, honestly.

Edit: Although, that's a little bit of a slap in the face to Nolan too, huh?

Re: Dunkirk General Information/Discussion

Probably not the appropriate thread, but I'm not going to lie, if 1917 wins Best Picture I'm going to lose my shit.

Re: Trailer #2

HvH is way better than Wally, imo. Wally's work all started looking the same, especially going from TDK to Inception, whereas HvH's three films all have vastly different aesthetics, three completely different movies with different identities. I think a lot of Batman Begins and The Prestige feel too ...

Re: Trailer #2

Man, being such a die hard fan and seeing his movies dozens and dozens of times, sometimes I forget that there's nobody out there like Nolan. Like, I forget to step back from my fandom and realize that he's really the only game in town presenting such wild, original ideas and concepts. Other filmmak...
