Re: HBO's Game of Thrones

I can't believe how good Djawadi is here. His score more than anything really "ties" it all up.

D&D somehow managed to get past the finish line. Somehow.

Re: John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum (2019)

Casablanca feels like it's out of a completely different movie. The guy who runs the High Table is Omar Sharif circa 1930 met by TE Reeves? It's one mythological leap too many, and cut awkwardly with the high table getting revenge amongst multiple characters. it's unclear what wick thought he'd acc...

Plan was to watch House of Flying Daggers and Curse of the Golden Flower before Shadow, but don't think I'll get time.

Surprised I haven't seen anyone talk about the
Women of Marvel scene
.

I think that scene went over most people at my showing, 'cause there wasn't much of a reaction.
I thought it was pretty cool. Audience in my theater loved it.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (2019)

It's shocking to me some are finding IW better paced than Endgame. IW is one of the worst paced MCU movies easily.
How the 6 stones are retrieved in Endgame is vastly superior to entire IW

Re: Last Film You Watched? VI

The Turin Horse (2011) My first Bela Tarr. Structurally the film immediately reminded me of Jeanne Dielman, a film I absolutely adore, but unlike that one I barely developed a liking for this one. Sure the cinematography was breathtaking and there were more than a few scenes of genuine surprise. It...

@Ruth, I disagree on the music, I thought it was Dwajadi's second masterpiece after Winds of winter.

GOD SIMPKINS
No, seriously, if anything was going to make me cry it was SIMPKINS. What a wonderful grace note.
Heavy spoiler
Is he the guy, on which camera lingers on during the funeral? The only person I didn't recognize in that scene.
